        Founded back in 2005, VEJA (meaning 'look' in Brazilian), happened during the Internet bubble. This collective infatuation with the virtual marketplace pushed them in the opposite direction, towards the reinvention of a "bricks & mortar" product.

        While looking for a manufacturing location, Brazil was the obvious choice. Ever since VEJA began, their sneakers have always been made in the same place: the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil. 

        The leather they use comes from southern Brazil. All leathers for sneakers come from tanneries audited and certified Gold by the Leather Working Group. 

        With a real dedication to transparency and sustainability, Veja moved to set the price of their organic and agroecological cotton in advance, in agreement with producer associations from Brazil and Peru, meaning the producers know how much they are going to earn from the cotton before they even plant it.

        Veja love designing sneakers that you'll be proud to wear in 10 years. The end result is a clean, simple, great wearing shoe.
